September 12, 2006
This website first went online on August 23, 2005 and is now in its second year. A busy personal schedule has kept me from updating the site for the past few weeks. I have brought the Photos of the Week up to date by adding nine photos of Dolores Hidalgo.

Announcing a new section: Photos
This section was created to help you find good photos of selected locations in Mexico. A few are done by professionals, but most are done by enthusiastic amateurs. To go to this section, click the button at the top right.

The highlights of the interior of the Parroquia of Dolores Hidalgo are the two excellent transcept altars. Standing between these altars there ia a fine view of the nave, the subject of the Photo of the Week.

The Site Map, outlining the entire website, can help you navigate through the website. From there you can go directly to any page. There is a link to the site map at the bottom of every page.

The Transportation section

Air
The Air section has info on the 32 airlines with international flights to Mexico, and 14 airlines offering flights within Mexico.

Discount Airlines - There is recently added section to help travelers find routes on discount airlines. These flights can save you a great deal of travel time without destroying your budget.

The flights often cost about the same as taking a good bus, and sometimes are cheaper! Be sure to read the cautions.

Bus
Using buses to or from Mexico City International Airport is now easier.
The Bus section’s WITHIN Mexico subsection now has a page, MEX Airport, with the schedules of buses connecting Mexico City International Airport (MEX) with the cities of Querétaro, Pachuca, Córdoba, Puebla, Cuernavaca and Toluca. The airport's own website has a page with the schedules of buses departing from the airport, but only here will you find schedules of buses going both to and from the airport.

The Book Section
The Money section has been dropped for now. In its place is a new section on books about Mexico. It begins with a page of my recommendations to those planning a trip to Mexico. More pages to come.

The Map Section
The introduction page has links to map websites. It is followed by Satellite Views of 97 locations in Mexico. They can be seen as regular Google satellite or as LarpMax views which I have programed to fill your entire screen.

The Photo Section
To aid those planning trips to new locations, or for those who enjoy good photo of Mexico, there is now a section of links to carefully chosen web pages containing photos of indidual locations. In addition, the Photo of the Week Archives have been divided by year and placed in this new section.
Who is Larpman?

I first went to central Mexico in 1993. Previously I had not been beyond Tijuana. I had travelled extensively in Europe including organizing and leading tours.

Not having travelled outside the United States for a several years, I went to Mexico because it was nearby and affordable. During my three week trip, I fell in love with the country and have returned for several longer visits.

I am among the regulars at the Mexico branch of Lonely Planet’s Thorn Tree message board, where you can find opinions and information.

Four albums of some of my photos of Mexico can be found on Webshots.

I hope you find this site useful and will return to view updates.
