In the past, internal flights in Mexico were expensive. Relief has come with the inception of Mexican discount airlines. Often the cost is about the same as busing on a first-class or above bus. Sometimes the flight is cheaper!
Below is an index of the 37* cities served by Aviasca, Avolar, Click, Interjet and Volaris. Cautions:
Airfares are constantly changing. If you see a good price for a flight that you are sure you want, book it as soon as possible.
•
When comparing prices, check to see if prices include all taxes. Taxes can raise prices substantially.
•
Flights between smaller destinations often require connecting flights. Mexico City is the hub most commonly used. Layover times in some cases are quite long, especially with Aviasca. Their flight from Oaxaca to Villahermosa has a 6 hour layover.
